From November 10 to 16, 2024, Nepali Female Filmmakers held a free week-long cinematography workshop in Kathmandu. Designed for women at beginner and intermediate levels, the workshop offered hands-on training in camera operation, sound, lighting, editing, and fieldwork.
The program was supported by a grant through Global Media Makers, a cultural exchange initiative between Film Independent and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Shanta Foundation was among the partners engaged in supporting female filmmakers in Nepal through initiatives like this, aiming to promote gender equality and skill development in the film industry.
