One-Day Lighting Workshop Empowers Filmmakers in Kathmandu

A one-day cinematic lighting workshop was recently held to provide women filmmakers with essential hands-on training in lighting techniques. The workshop aimed to enhance practical skills for both beginner and intermediate participants, helping improve the visual quality of their films.

Organized by Nepali Female Filmmakers with support from the Shanta Foundation, the event was a great way to kick off the year for women in film. The workshop featured expert mentorship from Shailendra D. Karki and Shishir Bishankhe, who guided participants through key cinematic lighting concepts and hands-on practice.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to foster skill development and creative growth among women filmmakers in Nepal, promoting gender equity and expanded opportunities in the industry.
