Charina Kulung Rai’s two children are getting higher education support from Shanta Foundation for the last two years. Charina, who lives in the high Himalayan village of Pangboche, came to the foundation’s attention during the shooting of a documentary.
Recognizing the family’s struggles in accessing quality education in such a remote region, Shanta Foundation stepped in to provide long-term assistance. The support is aimed at ensuring that Charina’s children can continue their studies and pursue higher education opportunities that are often out of reach for many in the Himalayas.
The foundation stated that it remains committed to helping children from underprivileged Himalayan communities, focusing on both education and health programs to uplift marginalized families.
